The tale of a Butterfly

A story of butterfly's realization

One beautiful spring morning when the sun was just starting to shine, a little caterpillar came into this world, through his mother and father. The little fella felt safe in his mother's arms. He would eat the leaves the whole day. Just walking and walking, and eating and eating.

Until one day. He wanted more, to see the world, and left home. He started to go very, very far. On his walks he saw the most beautiful things, colors, smells. He was the most intrigued by the flowers he saw.

Until one day when the dark clouds hid the sun. He came across the big thunderstorm. Great waters of the sky rushed through. Little caterpillar dropped on the ground and felt hurt. He asked himself that day: Why? Why is this happening to me? Why am I even here? Why didn't I stayed home?

Who am I? And it echoed through the whole universe. His quest began. Who is he? He searched everywhere... looking for the answers in the ant colony. He thought if he is a part of some community he will find himself. But he didn't found the answer there.

He met a spider. The spider pretended he was his friend but in the end, tried to eat him, and he escaped at the last minute before the spider put his web around him. Then he tried with all different kinds of bugs, but no answer did he found.

One day he felt tired of the search and just quit. At that moment he found a leaf, ate a bit and fall asleep. When he woke up, he was caterpillar no more, he cocooned himself in a chrysalis. It was dark, and he did not know what was happening. At first, he was afraid, but soon just let everything go. He did not have anything left, no answers found, and allowed himself to just be.

At that moment when he was with himself alone in the cocoon, he saw the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows. He let himself feel all of himself. He woke up one day and saw himself for the first time. "I am that I am" -he said and opened his wings. He was in chrysalis no more.

He was a beautiful butterfly with the most beautiful wings he saw. He fell in love with himself. He didn't ask any more who he was, because he just was. He enjoyed the beauty of himself and his life ever since. And if you see a beautiful butterfly flying nearby, that might just be our butterfly enjoying his flight and loving himself as he is.
